Usagi - Best Yakitori in Daikanyama

People often believe (specially before coming to Japan) that here, everyone eats sushi. Lime all the time. Reality could't be further than that. While everyday munchies usually come from the コンビニ (combini aka 7/11) and consist of onigiri (filled cheap riceballs), energetic jelly (in convenient packages) or sandwiches, dinner out usually conveys free bar (aka nomihoodai) and something meaty/warm to munch on.

Our local pearl is Usagi (うさぎ). Hidden in the backstreets ofthe busy restaurants in Ebisu Nishi, offers top notch quality and pretty decor. Contrast of young cheerful staff with the bamboo seats that anyone visiting is looking forward to. So yes. Give it a shot if you spend a day of busy shopping around Shibuya and shout out loud if it dissapoints you.

The only problem is the handwritten kanji menu, so please talk to the waiter and ask for "honni osusume" (todays recommended) and "yakitori moriawase" (mix of skewers), plus a couple of "yasai bagna cauda" (veggies with some fishy dip, my all time fav).

The veggies

すなぎも (sunagimo) = chicken gizzard = mollejas = yummy!

Nabe (soup cooked by yourself that consists of veggies and some small piece of meat) is usually awinter dish, but can round up any dinner, any time of the year!
