Hawai : Volcanoes National Park II - Pu'u Huluhulu

In Hawaiian, Pu'u Huluhulu means shaggy hill. This trail is quite a cool & short hike, both for the view of other grand volcanoes (such as Mauna Loa & Mauna Kea) and the crack in which the Earth broke in 1969, just before starting to puke lava.

First, to the Pu'u Huluhulu trail.

More rocks. Some greenery.

Rocky Rainbow

Bubbly formations

Lehua the flower that symbolizes the Big Island and its volcanoes.

Some coffee berries (I think)

Girl on the moon.

30'' later we were uhill, watching the Mauna Lea on the distance.

On the way back, more interesting shapes & colors showed up.

So we turned right this time, to visit the 1969 crack.

Lava as puked by the Earth.

Amazing colors

The holes in the floor, the 1km long crack was MAJOR.

Life, always finding the way through.
