Seoul - Namdaemun Market

Namdaemun
English
Namdaemun is the largest and oldest market in Korea. It started in 1414 as a marketplace managed by the government. The name comes from the south city gate, now located at an intersection metres away from the market entrance. If Dongdaemun offers the ultimate fashion shopping, Namdaemun does the work with food and supplements like ginseng. Specially street food, like pork knuckles, dim sum and hotteok (호떡), a filled-then-fried pancake for which people queue like crazy.
