The New World Group invested HK$40 million to create the perfect copy of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, along the promenade in Tsim Sha Tsui that faces the probably most impressive skyline in the world.
Among the Chinese Celebrities portrayed, Jackie Chan and the crazy pig were by far the most popular.
Some grey views from a non-dreamy tourist trap. Even worse, trap for mainland Chinese. Just like Macau, but without the gambling.
Things got interesting when we moved away from the crowd (as usual) we observed a crazy guy swimming in the not-so-cristaline waters. Beside some industrial harbor that gave the contrast that makes Hong Kong an interesting place to visit.
I was never happy on that trip. It was humid, rainy, cold, hot. I got blisters, allergy, mosquito bites and even some cold sore. I got tired of walking at 0.001km/h and sometimes broke down in tears, out of thining how nice would it be to be in Thailand or Bali or somewhere else sunny.
But. And this is a big but. Now I look back through the pictures, the memories, the contrasts and the learnings, I realize how worth it was. This isn't India, of course, but still it's shocking how the extreme pollution lives together with the highest end luxury. When the maids sit for a KFC picnic in the road, on Sunday (cause it's their day off) in front of Chanel and Armani. The city collapses, but it doesn't matter as it's always somehow clogged.
Anything can happen in Hong Kong. Good, bad, exclusive or dirty. It's the amazingness of China, where crisis means opportunity and there is never enough.
Look, what I told you? I was aboutto jump, like the crazy fella. When I saw him and the world turned upside down, and the sad face into a huge smile, cause the elephant was out of the room and on the water, making my childhood dam (or better said, Enrique's) not only true but supersized.
The rubber duck, crossed the news worldwide. Apparently the creation of a Dutch artist, that sold more souvenir in minutes than the Virgin of my hometown in my entire life.
How crazy is to see something live and in the news, at the same time? That's what I meant, when I talked about the amazingness of Hong Kong, man. Everything is possible.
So we jumped on a boat and changed side, just to see what else would the day bring to us.

Thanks for your comment and compliments, I liked the "lemon" icon of your site :)
I guess that travel makes me really happy and well, being married with someone that also prioritizes it over other things (such as owning a car) is awesome.
Let's keep in touch!!
