14:00.
The 2-tank dive of the day is already gone, just like the lunch is already finished. We are in this bungalow. In the middle of a Tropical Paradise. Yeah. But we cannot be under the sun (or we'll get roasted) and getting again into the water doesn't feel half right.
What's left? Anyone there?
Hello?
Let's walk, see what we find.
Not much to do, see or buy. That you end up cracking coconuts.
Probably you never thought about it. But coconuts come with the perfect padding. Because when the palm can grow up to 30m, you really need some good cushion to protect the nutritious seed. This is not an easy task.
Requires determination and a cross fit background. That may be helpful too.
Army face while smashing, critical for success.
GRRARRARAAAAAAA
Yay! Eventually, I managed to crack the fibers and pull hard enough to taste the delicious copra :)
Ready for island life.
As the sun was setting, mosquitoes came and basically ate us alive. But that, together with the Polynesian Zika is another story.
Zika is a dengue-like virus, that starts with dots covering your whole body. I first noticed them while diving and thought it had to do with the air making bubbles under my skin. Or something weird. After, you get fever and terrible pain. For 4 days, you cannot move, eat or stand. It's painful and may ruin your vacation. I did not experience any symptom (with the exception of the dots) and in 2 days, it all was gone. Enrique, on the contrary, got the fever on the way home. Spent 4 days away from the office (from the first time in his career) and had pain all over his body, like he never felt before.
Mosquito repellent is not the answer. But you have to take these things, as they come along these "remote paradise" experiences.
