Madrid Walking Tour
I never drink beer, sometimes happen to hold it.
There's something about Madrid, so mesmerizing, authentic, fascinating, grand, classic, energizing, cool, major. After years as an expat, you appreciate it even more. There's something about the wide avenues, the crowded bars, the classic architecture, the cool people. It is just so plain inspiring, so nice. That I have a hard time understanding the damn reason why foreigners are still dragged to Barcelona.
Seriously. Who has not ever met that Swede saying "I looove Spain yes, I have been N times to Barcelona" when we all know that yes, it is nice and cosmopolitan. Maybe so much it doesn't even feel like real Spain. Anyway, this is about me, my birthday spent as a lovely walk around those streets I like so much.
Luckily, we had Michael, as lovely blast from the past. Our beloved friend from Japan happens to be spending some months in Sweden, dropping by Spain whenever he gets some time. Seriously. I couldn't have wished for a better birthday. Wandering around the city, to wrap up with a lovely dinner among my besties. Something I had not experienced in the last 9 years - guess it was about time :)
