Bangkok : Aloft Hotel

Aloft is our recommended hotel in Bangkok

When you feel sorry about leaving the hotel, you know it was a great choice. My week in Aloft Hotel was busy, but memorable - both due to personal and professional experiences - at the same time.

The room is new, clean and cool looking, with shades of blue, minimal furniture and nice views of the city. The breakfast was awesome, including a guy making omelettes for you on the fly and the wow views of a 9th floor in central Bangkok. They offer free internet and a free PINK TukTuk to take you either to the MRT or the BTS station. It is located in Sukhumvit Soi 11, a street famous among Bangkok residents (this I learnt from my friend in the office) by its many good restaurants and bars. It is close to both MRT (subway) and BTS (skytrain), so it makes transit really simple.

Actually we sometimes took the train instead of a cab - even though we were on business - simply because it was much more reliable and fast. With room rates at 80€ per night, I think it's a good idea for you to check it out if you happen to be in town for a couple of days, before flying off to the wonderful islands.

This in effect creates a single large database of hotel information which all online travel agents can tap on, providing the traveler with up-to-date information and prices, which means that he does not have to check with the hotel directly. Cheap Airline Tickets As long as you are armed with a computer connected to the Internet, anyone can have access to the vast database of hotels that you can examine and compare before making an instant reservation with minimum fuss and effort.
