Fact is, japanese people love cats. However, it ain't easy to have one home. Usually, flats are way too small, people work too much and the landlord, doesn't even allow that. Hence, the cat café culture kicks in. For some reason, Ikebukuro seems to be filled with these places. 

There's one scary pet zoo which I would not recommend you to visit and a couple other cafés which are nicer, one is bigger and equipped with lots of manga books that you can read while comfortably sitting in a couch. So it's more about the living room thing than the cats themselves. Another, pictured in this post, is smaller but offers a lot more cats/person, free coffee and a Wii to play in the meanwhile. For me, it would've been fine with these furry balls.

I wonder how can I still find them so amazing to watch & relaxing to touch. Probably, it's the mere consequence of spending 15 years of my childhood with Mochin. Either way. Take a Yamanote and have a look. It won't disappoint you, for sure.

No hay nada como estar rodeado de gatitos, relajantes y encantadores, son el mejor compañero del japonés medio. El problema viene cuando te mudas a la ciudad, vives en un piso minúsculo y ni tan siquiera tienes permiso, como inquilino, a tener mascota. De ahí viene la cultura del café gatito (猫) donde por unos 1000YEN tienes barra libre de café, libros de manga, Wii y las caricias de estas adorables bolas de pelo. La perfecta manera de pasar un Sábado lluvioso.

El de la cara chata era un bicho muy gracioso. O no se movía, o iba corriendo como un loco de un lado a otro, ahí todo gordo él.

Este café era más pequeño, pero se les veía más felices. La verdad es que de todos los sitios que hemos visto so far, el peor fue CON DIFERENCIA el primero. Era como un zoo donde los veías sufriendo... Daba mucha penica.

Adoro a los gatos, pero no quiero tener otro. Sufrí demasiado cuando mi mochin se murio, menos mal que no estaba ahí para verlo.
