Aokigara, Japan Suicide forest.
While I'm just a foreigner, who probably doesn't understand, I can see many things that seem wrong.
In a world where work is allowed to take over life, loneliness is everyday's train ride, friends in the big city are words on the other side of Line while many couples appear as a responsibility vs money tradeoff... It feels broken. I don't know how to fix it.
As the guard says "we still need to see each other's face". If happiness comes from empathy, I see a problem due to the huge lack of assertiveness in Japanese culture. More honne we need.
