Malaga summer nights smell of jasmine flowers, arranged Bizanaga style.
The little flowers are tied together and carried over a piece of cactus, by men dressing traditional style. Lovers are supposed to buy one of these for their beautiful ladies, as a way to capture their attention, at least while the perfume lasts. Their smell lingers along the streets. It is simply one of the best things of the summer here.
The name comes from the plant that serves as skeleton for the little jasmine flowers, a kind of cactus called ammi visnaga. A Golden Biznaga is given as prize for Malaga's Film Festival.
I may have not received one yet, as I got a much better prize: My friends here, every now and then. They also got some super power, to change my mood from disastrous to awesome, making a working Friday with 5h sleep, feel like a real blessing.
...magic summer nights.
