Bonaire : Eden Beach Resort

Eden Beach Resort in Bonaire

Bonaire is by far, our favourite among the three islands in the Netherlands Antilles. It is less exploited and the nature is much more amazing, with 100 offshore dive sites, perfect bays for kite and windsurfing, a Natural Reserve and a donkey sanctuary, it's really the gem of the ABC. We wished we would have spent 10 days there (instead of just 5) but we did enjoy our stay, also thanks to the lovely hotel where we were, Eden Beach Resort.

Ironically, the room rates were comparable to Aruba, but the experience was SO MUCH BETTER. We had hot water, a lovely pool to hang out or practice yoga, a large parking space, lovely bard by the beach and dedicated dive center - along with its own pier, where you can rent all the equipment or just get some bottles to explore the amazing coral on your own. This is the magic of Bonaire, there are hundred dive sites but you can dive without a dive master, so it is a common sight to see a truck stopped by the road and people wearing fins over the asphalt.

We rented a truck to be able to explore the National Reserve, but the island was small enough to make it to the village or the airport on foot, provided you are into power walking as much as we are. Anyway, really lovely place to take the perfect vacation that cures a broken heart, a stressed brain or a depressed soul, in a couple of weeks.
