Seoul - Namdaemun Market
English
Namdaemun is the largest and oldest market in Korea. It started in 1414 as a marketplace managed by the government. The name comes from the south city gate, now located at an intersection metres away from the market entrance. If Dongdaemun offers the ultimate fashion shopping, Namdaemun does the work with food and supplements like ginseng. Specially street food, like pork knuckles, dim sum and hotteok (호떡), a filled-then-fried pancake for which people queue like crazy.
Enrique opted for some dimsum - they are really cheap, 3 of them cost roughly 2€.
Ginseng roots on display, I love the golden look.
Fendi-like bag charms selling at 25€
Lots of people.
The famous hotteok.
The gate, nowadays surrounded by traffic
