When the winter comes to town, there's something that - apart from Lucia and her glögg bottles - cheers these dark weekends: The Christmas Markets or, as they're called på svenska, Julmarknader.
Glögg... Yummy!!!
The city is full of them. Kunsträdgården, Drottiningatan, Gamla Stan... Almost each neighborhood has its own traditional market with decorations and food. However, my favorite ones are not so obvious much more ephemeral and held in the best art schools in town. Konstfack & Beckmans.
Julmuffin
+ Pepparkaksmuffin = Energetic breakfast to prepare for a long walk from home...
...to Konstfack!
School's decorations.
Sugar diamonds.
Cutlery hangers.
Candle holders and...
A MASSIVE ICE-CREAM to prepare for the second 10+km walk of the day down to...
Chokladkoppen where David introduced us to Annas, his friend, in Gamla Stan.
Last weekend was, the Beckman's weekend. A private art school in the midst of Östermalm - the posh side of Stk.
For artsy kids.
A rip-off calendar... To break the Holiday countdown!!!
Today was a way better day at work. Even if I saw one of my best (and only) friends in E/// getting from upset to angry all the way up to frustrated, I enjoyed being with him during two hours: Isn't a discussion much better than sitting in my room.... COMPLETELY DESPERATE AND ALONE??
Got lots of emails from friends and family who had gotten my Xmas cards in their postboxes :D so the cheer I once tried to spread came back to me. Nice to see how their words warmed up this frozen day - I know, it's cold in Spain too - but really... You didn't walk back home on the snow, didn't you?
Anyway, time for Numero and sweet dreams.
